MacKenzie XC Ski Trail

UPDATED 1/21/26:

Double whammy!  We dragged the weighted jet sled and then dragged the groomer over top of it last night. Trails are as good as they get. If we get a few more inches before the weekend we’ll do it again. Welcome back winter!

A reminder with the cold temps, make sure to go out there with a plan.  Some of the outer loops can be multiple miles from your nearest road and mobile service is spotty at best. A minor injury can turn serious fast when temps are below zero. The buddy system, some water, and a packable space blanket can be life savers in a pinch.

Enjoy safely!

Report any downed trees by filling out the form on our website. Learn more about the MacKenzie Trail here.

Latest Update

The rain has burned off almost all of the snow. Some places will have some shoreline erosion but nothing a big step can't overcome. It will probably be slushy tomorrow with the fresh snow. Learn more at Pilgrim Village Fishing Shop.

TRAIL BASE:
2-4"

CONDITIONS:  Very Good

Trail conditions are fantastic right now in the Cadillac area! Groomers are all out hitting the trails after a busy MLK Weekend, followed by over 12″ of fresh snow! I would rate most of our system an 8 or 9 out of 10 at this point. Temps are pretty cold over the next 15 days which should really help our trail conditions get even better, with snow expected most every day for the next ten days.

Winter Sports Trail 🚲

The WST was groomed in the morning.  The groomer noted the snow was drifting back in right behind the sled. For the safety of our groomers in these frigid temps, grooming is strictly “only if you want to” until it warms up some.
