Tribute to Vietnam War Veterans

The Cadillac Wall Project was formed to bring “The American Veterans Traveling Tribute” to Cadillac in August of 2011. This moving memorial was an 80% or is a 4/5 size replica of the Wall in Washington DC. The memorial was location for 4 days in Cadillac.

Along with the Vietnam Memorial Wall, the group displayed those who have given their lives in the defense of freedom from all major conflicts and a tribute to those who died on 9/11.

Displays (Could be viewed 24hrs a day) include:

  • Flags for display on The Wall
  • Vietnam Remembered Art Display
  • Walk of Heroes Collection
  • WWII Tribute Collection
  • Korea Tribute Collection
  • 9/11 Tribute
  • Gold Dog Tag Collection for Casualties since Vietnam 
  • Gold Dog Tag Collection for Global War of Terror Casualties
  • And more.

Thursday the exhibits opened at noon.   Books were available to look up names 24hrs a day;; computers can be used from 8am to 8pm.

THURSDAY, FRIDAY, and SATURDAY ceremonies started at Noon.  Sunday the exhibits were open until 3pm. Ceremonies were held at the Rotary Pavilion in the City Park downtown, except for Saturday evening. The Saturday evening programs took place in front of The Wall.

 There was Limited seating, participants were advised to bring a folding lawn chair.

 Wednesday, August 3, 2011:

3:45 PM

The Wall arrived by motorcycle escort from Reed City. Over 800 Riders met at the Reed City Marathon Gas station prior to 2:00pm; riders were not allowed to cut in once the escort started.  The parade was a long over-due Welcome Home for our area Veterans who served in the Vietnam War.
